Stop the Bleed Module - Intermediate

A person can bleed to death from severe hemorrhage in as little as 3-5 minutes, faster than many EMS agencies can respond to the scene. Rapid, public access to bleeding control products reduces time to treatment and saves lives in incidents of severe hemorrhage. This is the basis for the Department of Homeland Security's "Stop The Bleed" program, a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives.

Essential components

This version of the original Stop the Bleed Module and includes the vital components to Stop the Bleed, in alignment with the U.S. government initiative. The intermediate Stop the Bleed kit goes beyond the basics and includes a chest seal (vented twin pack) to address penetrating chest wounds and a hypothermia blanket as a part of hypovolemic shock treatment.

Like the basic kit, this kit includes a windlass tourniquet — your choice of the CAT from North American Rescue, the SOF Tourniquet by TacMed Solutions, or the SAM XT from SAM Medical.

The Bleeding Control Station IFAK - Intermediate kit offers the same components as this module, packed in a red nylon pouch for easy recognition and accessibility.

The intermediate option is also available as a fully stocked public access cabinet (a set of eight 8 IFAKs contained in a grab-and-go carrier, with an optional AED-style metal cabinet). It provides the public with supplies necessary to address massive bleeding when and where it is needed.
