FAQs
What’s the difference between a Dual Treatment Kit and a Station?
Dual Treatment Kits include supplies to treat two individuals and are often stored in bags or small wall cabinets. Stations are larger, wall-mounted units that contain eight individual IFAKs, designed for rapid distribution in mass casualty incidents.
Can these stations be used by someone with no medical training?
Yes. Each IFAK includes an instruction card with clear, step-by-step guidance. These kits were designed to empower immediate responders, including untrained bystanders, to control life-threatening bleeding until professional help arrives. However, the instructions are not a substitute for proper training, which is highly encouraged.
Do the kits include tools for treating chest wounds and shock?
Intermediate and Advanced stations contain vented chest seals and emergency blankets, in addition to tourniquets and trauma dressings. Advanced kits also include QuikClot® hemostatic dressings for faster bleeding control. Each kit is designed for intuitive use with purpose-built tools that align with official STOP THE BLEED® training – empowering bystanders to act quickly in an emergency.
Where should I install a STOP THE BLEED® Station?
Install in high-traffic or high-risk areas such as schools, gyms, lobbies, job sites, or near fire extinguishers and AEDs. The wall-mounted cabinet is easy to identify and access during an emergency.
Can I order replacement IFAKs or refill components?
Yes. Individual IFAKs and components are available for reorder. This allows you to restock used items without replacing the full cabinet or station setup.
